Help that stays put in class chat

Class chat now opens with a short welcome pinned above the message box, carrying the greeting and who to contact if something goes wrong. It stays where it is while the conversation moves, and each organization writes its own. Classes also start faster and run more smoothly.

In a class

For anyone joining a class with chat turned on.

  • Know who to ask before you need to

A short note sits above the message box in chat, first in the waiting room and again once the class begins. It carries the welcome and the phone number and email address to use if something stops working — tap either to dial or to start a message. It stays pinned while the conversation scrolls past, so a busy class can't bury it the way a chat message gets buried.

  • Close it, and get it back

The ✕ closes the note once you have read it, and a More help link opens the full guide to the class. Reloading the page brings the note back — which is usually what you are doing when something has gone wrong, and the moment the number is worth having in front of you again.

For teams running classes

What your students see, and where it comes from.

  • Write your own welcome

The greeting and the contact details in that note are your organization's own, set once in your settings and shown to every student in every class. The same contact details carry through to the help guide students open during a class, so a number that changes only has to be changed in one place. An organization that has no contact details on file points students at their class organizer instead.

Faster and more reliable

For everyone in a class.

  • Faster class starts

Classes open quickly, even when everyone arrives at once.

  • Smoother joins

When someone joins late or reconnects, nobody else is slowed down.

  • Refresh keeps your place

Reloading the page takes you back into class, with no need to enter your name again.
